OUR MINISTER

Reverend Connie McNamara is now serving Three Harbours in the fifteenth year of a pastoral relationship that moved from full time to half time in July 2019, and the fourth year of a half time pastoral relationship with River John West Branch, as per our collaborative ministry agreement.  Connie hails from Kempt Road, Cape Breton, is married to Arthur Doucette, and they have three sons Noah (Samantha), Seth (Matt), and Jacob.  Connie will celebrate 26 years of ordination as of June 2, 2023.  She is currently a Pastoral Relations Liaison, a Pastoral Charge Supervisor for another Pastoral Charge, and a member of the Annual Meeting Planning Committee for Region 15.

Connie recognizes that ministry is changing, with priorities being clearly focused on what we can afford rather than what we are called to do and be as God's presence in this place; however, after much discernment around her call, she will continue to do her best to follow Jesus in ways of preaching, teaching, and service in church and in the wider community, within her 20 hours per community of faith each week.

If you have a need or a question please contact Connie, by calling her cell at 902-890-9120, or by email at therevconnie@gmail.com

OUR CHURCHES

St. Andrew's United Church, in Fox Harbour, is a beautiful country church with an active Sunday School, and a willing community choir when the need arises, and a close knit family atmosphere.  St. Andrew's is small but mighty, they work hard in faith filled ways, and are always welcoming to all who walk through their doors.

Malagash United Church is nestled on the beautiful South Shore of the Malagash Peninsula.  The congregation has a small but dedicated choir, and a hug at the door is a regular occurence for members and visitors alike.  Malagash United Church strives to be a faithful, warm, and welcoming  presence.

St. John's United Church's red roof and steeple, is a landmark in the bustling village of Wallace.  St. John's has a small congregation, but a big historical building, which they strive to maintain and enhance.

Salem United Church is found along Route#6 in the heart of River John.  A lovely large sanctuary hosts a warm and welcoming congregation who work hard to provide a ministerial presence in the community enhancing both spirituality and social justice.

West Branch United Church sits in the small village of West Branch, an historic presence from days gone by when hundreds of people thronged to churches.  Today it may be a small congregation but it is also a congregation who support one another and come together to provide care and to celebrate milestones in life and faith.
